All five of the Delco Idol finalists for 2005 will return to The Media Theatre for a special concert Saturday evening, September 10. Beginning at 7:30pm, the concert will feature the four runners-up during the first act and the winner (Lauren Cupples) in act two.

"Throughout the competition, each of the contestants gave extraordinary performances," said Media Theatre's Executive Director Patrick Ward. "This return engagement concert promises to be memorable, with the five unique personalities onstage."

Lauren Cupples, of Glenolden, was the Delco Idol winner. She received $1000 plus appearances on NBC-10 and Comcast Newsmakers. Newspapers focused on her win, and over 500 people gave her a standing ovation at Media Theatre when it was announced, by Artistic Director Jesse Cline, that she won the competition. Weekly audiences had been captivated by her stunning performances of songs like "Mack the Knife" from Threepenny Opera and "Unusual Way" from Nine.

The four runners-up, in descending order, were: Michael McLaughlin (18, of Chester), Jaclyn Haydamacha (21, of Upper Darby), Angela Pomo (21, of Havertown), and Eric Longo (20, of Folsom).

The concert is Saturday, September 10 at 7:30pm at Media Theatre and will be directed by Jesse Cline. Cline said, "For those audiences who saw at least part of the competition, this is an opportunity to show appreciation to the talented young performers. For those who didn't make it to the weekly competition, this is a chance to see what all the buzz is about."
