The Ritz Theatre Presents "Of Mice and Men" For Immediate Release: August 11, 2005 The Ritz Theatre Company, Inc.presents "Of Mice and Men" September 8 through October 8, 2005 at the historic Ritz Theatre, located at 915 White Horse Pike in Camden County, NJ. The gripping tale of shattered dreams became award winning author John Steinbeck's first big success. Steinbeck adapted it into a three act play which was produced in 1937. The play follows Steinbeck's novel closely, exploring questions of strength, weakness and alienation. It brings his idea of California vividly to life. "Of Mice and Men" is the story of two friends, George Milton and Lennie Small who wander the country during the Depression, dreaming of one day owning a small farm and finding a better life for themselves. George acts as a father figure to Lennie, who is large and simpleminded. Lennie doesn't know his own strength which causes frequent problems for George. An incident with a young girl leads to a tragic end for this classic American tale. In the role of Lennie is Scott Evans of Bordentown, NJ. Mike Hagan of Havertown, Pa. plays George.Candy is played by Lawr H. Geller of Phila. Curley is Damian Gaeta of Ewing, NJ and Curley's wife is Carly Mooney of Phila.
