Good Evening at Act II will raise funds for Katrina victims For Immediate Release: September 8, 2005 When "Good Evening" begins previews at Act II Playhouse in Ambler PA on Friday, September 16, there will be an unusual curtain call added to the program. Stars Tony Braithwaite and Chris Faith will station themselves at the rear of the theatre after each performance and will be collecting funds of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Since the play was written by British film and stage stars Peter Cook and Dudley Moore it won't be so much "passing the hat" as it will be "passing the bowler", but the end results, hopefully, will help people badly in need of assistance. The show runs through October 16 and is the first offering of the 2005-06 season which is sponsored by Sunrise Assisted Living of Dresher, PA. All weekday performances (except opening night) will begin at 8 PM; the Sunday performances are at 2 PM. There will be Wednesday matinees on October 5 and 12 at 2 PM. There will be Tuesday performances on September 20 and 27 (normally the theatre is dark on Mondays and Tuesdays). For tickets call the playhouse at 215-654-0200 or you may purchase them at the box office at 56 East Butler Avenue in Ambler, PA. Prices range from $20-to-$32 depending on the performance. Employing literate wit and razor-edged satire, the show includes a take-off on the Nativity, a homosexual Othello, a one-legged man auditioning for the role of Tarzan and the perils of running a two-course restaurant on the English Moors.
