Vagabond Throws Holiday Hoopla - Vagabond Acting Troupe Raises Good Cheer And Good Funds With Christmas Cranival For Immediate Release: December 9, 2005 The Vagabond Acting Troupe will be holding their Christmas Carnival to raise funds for their upcoming piece THE YELLOW BOAT by David Saars, a transformative journey of hope for children 8 to 88. Quickly becoming a holiday tradition, this 2nd annual event offers "an enticing precursor to, or at least temporary escape from, facing another year of ties and bad perfume under the tree" (CITY PAPER). The fundraiser will be held at St. George's Church, 256 S 8th Street, on December 17th from 7pm to 12am. Tickets are $15 at the door or , in advance at douggreeneactor@yahoo.com or 215-272-4942 for $10. Vagabond's Christmas Carnival is a celebration of the season of giving and a great excuse to throw a party for the thriving live arts scene in Philadelphia. Live music, cutting-edge improvisation, scenes from Vagabond's Barrymore nominated ART OF WAR and tongue-in-cheek burlesque will entertain party goers while bar-aficionado company members keep the alcohol flowing all night. Between live acts, enjoy FREE dinner, a raffle/silent auction or have your photo taken on Dirty Santa's lap. If you don't feel like dealing with that tree this year, win one of our pre-decorated trees to take home! Vagabond Acting Troupe looks to their friends and fans in the artistic community for the live entertainment and raffle prizes. The critically acclaimed band, 722, headlines the musical acts. 722 has been said to be a cross between Frank Zappa and Tenacious D with a twist 80s new wave like the Police and the Talking Heads but this is only a glimpse of their influences and their eclectic sound is augmented by the theatricality of their stage presence. Sexy Hannah Tsapatoris reprises her famed Medusa for a Christmas performance of mythical proportions and Philly favorite The N Crowd offers cutting edge improv. These and other smoking acts are sure to fill you with holiday cheer. Other avid fans share unusual raffle prizes of original artwork, headshot sessions and even steamy massages to help spread good wishes in the name of Vagabond! Whether it's a chance to win tickets to this seasons hottest shows, strong drinks of cheer or sweet nothings in your ear delivered by Dirty Santa, there is something to warm everyone's heart this winter at Vagabond's Christmas Carnival.
