Come See Theater Through Our Eyes - City Theater Company-Delaware's OFF-Broadway-announces its new season! For Immediate Release: April 22, 2006 All eyes are on City Theater Company in 2006-2007! CTC is entering its thirteenth year of doing stuff that rocks, and we're still having one hell of a time. The people behind the critically acclaimed Love's Fire and the Barrymore award-winning Hedwig and the Angry Inch invite you to be one of the first to get a look at our upcoming season. First up is William Finn's Tony® award-winning BEST MUSICAL Falsettos, which opens in October. The musical redefines what it means to be a family in this day and age, as it follows a man named Marvin and his family-the wife, the son, the boyfriend, the therapist, and the lesbian couple next door. It's brave, it's funny, it's true. Just like us. Come December we celebrate the holidays with Christopher Durang's Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge. Festive and funny, this hit play offers a welcome alternative to traditional holiday fare. A merry send-up of beloved holiday classics like "A Christmas Carol", "It's a Wonderful Life", and "Gift of the Magi", it tells the unsung story of Dickens' harried heroine as she mixes it up with ghosts of the past, present, and future with always hilarious results. Sex sells in February, when a tiny dancer with big dreams struggles to make it in David Rabe's masterpiece, In the Boom Boom Room. Set against the seedy, surreal backdrop of a Philadelphia go-go bar, young Crissy meets a cast of characters who promise an escape from her unhappy home, an escape that never truly materializes-or does it? Finally, in April it's kill or be killed as we present one of the most controversial musicals ever written, Stephen Sondheim's Assassins. This musical explores the American experience through the lives of nine individuals who murdered or attempted to kill a President of the United States-from John Wilkes Booth's assassination of Abraham Lincoln to John Hinckley's failed attempt on the life of Ronald Reagan. The musical styles of the brilliant score range from folk to ragtime to soft rock as befits each character's era.
