ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Acting From the Body: Unleashing the Physical Self , a movement-based workshop for actors of all levels and backgrounds, draws on the belief that by listening to the body and following one's physical impulses, the actor will find greater emotional truth in performance. Led by EgoPo Artistic Director Lane Savadove, one of the country's leading teachers of Viewpoints, classes will be comprised of intensive training sessions two days a week, with an optional third class that will allow acting students to train alongside the acclaimed EgoPo Theatre Company that recently produced the controversial Off-Broadway production of Jean Genet's THE MAIDS X 2 in New York City. While their texts are from theater, their style borrows heavily from dance.if the audience is any indication, they have managed to cross over in both forms." - P-Form, National Performance Art Journal All students will have the opportunity to audition for EgoPo's Philadelphia and New York season. Acting from the Body: Unleashing the Physical Self is EgoPo's Level One Class and is mandatory for actors wishing to move onto advanced training with the company and status as Associate Company Members.
