Grease! IS the Word at The New Candlelight Theatre! Delaware's only non-profit Equity dinner theater making history, breaking box office records, and thrilling audiences in 2007!

Grab your poodle skirts and slick back duckbills, Grease! is coming to The New Candlelight Theatre February 16 through April 22. Written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, Grease! is the story of Rydell High School students Danny Zuko, king of the Burger Palace Boys, and Sandy Dumbrowski, the wholesome, naive transfer student whose life changes forever thanks to the influence of tough-talking Rizzo, leader of the Pink Ladies gang. Filled with such hits as "Greased Lightnin'," "Summer Nights," "Born to Hand Jive" and "We Go Together," the show is ranked as the fifth-longest running musical in Broadway history.

Director Dewey Oriente has put together a stellar cast with mixtures of Candlelight favorites and talented newcomers. Making their Candlelight debut, Andrew Foote and Erin-Michelle Waldie.

Long Beach Island native, Andrew Foote stars as the leader of the Burger Palace Boys. His vast resume has taken him from summers at Surflight Theater to the high seas of the Celebrity Cruises. Most notably, Mr. Foote was seen in the National Tours of Ragtime and Annie. Joining Andrew as star-crossed lovers, Danny and Sandy, is Erin-Michelle Waldie. Ms. Waldie recently starred as Amneris in the Media Theatre's production of Aida.

Second in command of the Greasers, Kenickie is played by Candlelight favorite, Rory Donovan. Donovan was last seen as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Matt in The Fantastics and Louis in Pippin. Returning to the Candlelight stage, Melissa Joy Hart, plays tough talking, no nonsense Betty Rizzo, leader of the Pink Ladies. Seen last season as the Wardrobe in Candlelight's Beauty and the Beast, Hart has performed regionally in Jacques Brel.Paris and Sound of Music at the Walnut Street Theater and Into the Woods at Arden Theater Company.

Caitlin Reilly, making her Candlelight debut as Marty, was last seen in The Prince Music Theatre's production of Annie Get Your Gun and Flashpoint Theatre Company's The House of Yes. Also making her debut on the Candlelight stage as Jan, Kathryn M. Lyles has been seen regionally in Anyone Can Whistle at The Prince Music Theatre and most recently finished a successful run of The Last Five Years and Gypsy.

Making their New Candlelight Theatre debut: Angela Lynn Pomo as Patty Simcox, Aimee Kerr as Frenchy and Patrick O'Hara as Vince Fontaine. Returning Candlelight veterans include: Jeff Reim as Teen Angel/Johnny Casino, Brendan Sheehan as Doody, Paul Goodman as Roger, Anthony Tumolo as Sonny, Dan Sanchez as Eugene, Gina Cipollini as Cha-Cha, and Cathy Deluke Stamegna as Miss Lynch.

In March of 2006 New Candlelight Theatre was granted non-profit status and thus has become the only Equity non-profit dinner theatre in the entire United States! As the newest member of The Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, Candlelight's is quickly making a name for itself in The Greater Philadelphia area.

NCP employs and supports hundreds of theater professionals that cross its threshold each year. By giving actors, directors, choreographers and designers a place to hone their craft, New Candlelight Theatre is the catalyst many of these artist need for pursuing careers in National Tours, Broadway, regional theater, television and film.

Based in Ardentown, a community known for its artistic nature, the newly renovated historic barn once housed Robin Hood Theatre and Candlelight Music Dinner Theatre before new ownership renamed it The New Candlelight Theatre. With these changes came a new era and a new mission: "Keep Live Theatre-ALIVE!"
