Nominees for the 2007 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre and new plans for the 13th annual Gala Barrymore Awards Ceremony, the premier annual event in Philadelphia theatre, will be announced at a press conference hosted by the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia on August 1st at 10:00 a.m. at the Arden Theatre Company in Philadelphia.

Announcements will include this year's co-hosts, a comic duo currently performing at a Theatre Alliance member theatre; this year's honored guest and Lifetime Achievement recipient, a gracious woman who has given so much of herself to the entire Philadelphia theatre community; the anticipated F. Otto Haas Award for an Emerging Philadelphia Theatre Artist; and nominees in acting, direction and design categories.

The Theatre Alliance will also share plans for a new direction in this year's Ceremony, introducing a new format and for the first time giving audiences an opportunity to preview some of the coming season's most exciting productions. The ceremony, directed by Vincent Marini, will shine the spotlight on the rich and diverse theatre community and the collective winning quality that the region's theatrical stages consistently offer. The ceremony, which will be held at the Crystal Tea Room on Monday, October 1st at 7:00 p.m., will feature an elegant three course meal prepared by the Crystal Tea Room's exclusive caterer Finley Catering.
