I Hate Hamlet opens at Action Arts Theater - A comedy featuring the ghost of John Barrymore

Action Arts Theater Company, resident at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts, presents I Hate Hamlet, by Paul Rudnick. It is a straight-forward comedy that promises belly laughs and a great night's entertainment.

In celebration of opening night, Action Arts Theater Company will host a complimentary gourmet reception. Theatergoers are invited to enjoy a tantalizing array of hors d'oeuvres, drinks and desserts. The audience can share thoughts, questions, and reactions with the cast, crew, and director.

The Story: What actor wouldn't want to play Hamlet for New York's famous Shakespeare in the Park? Answer: an intimidated television star whose show has just been cancelled and whose life is out of sorts. Enter the ghost of legendary Shakespearean actor John Barrymore to help the young man bring Hamlet to life. The young man's talent agent, virginal girlfriend, and a hot-to-trot real estate agent add to the comical absurdity.
