Delaware Shakespeare Festival announces its annual summer production For Immediate Release: January 24, 2008
The Delaware Shakespeare Festival proudly announces its Summer Production for 2008: Romeo & Juliet. One of Shakespeare's most celebrated and beloved works, Romeo & Juliet is a tragic tale of star-crossed love, of chivalry and rivalry, "where civil blood makes civil hands unclean." Directed by DSF Co-founder Molly Cahill, this production of Romeo & Juliet promises to be unique, while remaining faithful to the bard. The play maintains its setting in 15th century Verona, and will have something for everyone - comedy, tragedy, romance, violence, even economics! Romeo & Juliet will be presented at Rockwood Park in Wilmington, DE from July 25, 2008 - August 9, 2008. Due to past demand, Delaware Shakespeare Festival has added performances on Wednesday nights, along with Thursday through Sunday nights. Show times are 7:30 pm Wednesday through Saturday and 6:00 pm on Sundays. As always, patrons are encouraged to bring food and beverage, and to arrive early for pre-show entertainment. Auditions for Romeo & Juliet will be held on February 17, 2008 from noon to 8:00 pm at Archmere Academy in Claymont, DE. For more information and to schedule an audition, visit our website: www.delshakes.org/company/audition. Founded in 2003, the Delaware Shakespeare Festival is a non-profit organization presenting professional theatre and educational programs to further the understanding and appreciation of Shakespeare's works for the residents and friends of the State of Delaware.
