The N Crowd, Philadelphia's premier improv comedy troupe¹, is celebrating the third anniversary of its first show in Philadelphia on April 25, 2008. This show will also mark the 190th performance of the troupe since their first show on April 22, 2005. Currently The N Crowd performs at the Actors Center located at 257 N. 3rd street in Old City. This is their third home in the last three years; although they have been performing at this location since August of 2006. The troupe originally performed at 213 New Street and had a brief run at the Society Hill Playhouse before finding its current home. With only short gaps, The N Crowd has been performing nearly every week in its three years of existence and has not missed a Friday performance since January of 2007. This year The N Crowd will be making their anniversary show a special event by having a 2 hour spectacular with as many N Crowd performers past and present as possible. "This might be the only time you will find so many N Crowd alumni in one place," says Executive Director, B.J. Ellis. "It'll be two hours long because frankly, 90 minutes won't be enough to fit in all of this hilarity." Tickets for this special event will be $15 per person.

The N Crowd is a short form improv comedy troupe under the artistic direction of Jessica Snow and is hosted by Matt Nelson. Shows are generally 90 minutes long and consist of short games played with a different mix of performers every week. Audience participation is not only needed, but vital at N Crowd shows. "Every 4 or 5 minutes we are asking the crowd to yell out something," say Production Manager and performer Brandon Libby. "If you are shy, bring a friend who isn't."

Besides their weekly shows, The N Crowd has appeared at The Grape Street Pub, The Balcont at the Trocadero, Fergies Pub, Mélange Theater Live, the Renaissance Academy in Phoenixville and Eastern University. They have also performed at fundraisers for Naked Feet Productions, Vagabond Productions, Village Productions, and Independence Charter School.
