Time to break out your lipstick and fishnet stockings as Richard O’Brian’s The Rocky Horror Show takes center stage in Delaware For Immediate Release: September 5, 2008
New Candlelight Productions announces a sixth show added to the season. Richard O’Brian’s The Rocky Horror Show opens October 10th, 2008 and will play through November 1st, 2008 with 8PM and Midnight showings. Tickets are $39.00 with reservation, $44.00 at the door and $34.00 with student ID. Price includes light fare buffet and general admission seating. The Rocky Horror Show is an outrageous romp featuring the most stereotyped science fiction movies combined with Marvel comics and rock 'n' roll music of every vintage. Running through the story is the sexual confusion of two middle-American “Ike Age” kids, played by NCP’s Phantom actors John Smitherman and Rebecca Schall, confronted by the complications of the decadent morality of the 70s, represented in the person of the mad 'doctor' Frankenfurter, a transvestite from the planet Transexual in the galaxy of Transylvania. The Rocky Horror Show, a cult classic since 1975 features a rocking score by Richard O’Brien and book by Richard O’Brien and Jim Sharman. Joining Ms. Schall and Mr. Smitherman is the talented cast of favorites including Damian Shembel as Frankenfurter, Brendan Sheehan as Riff Raff, Rick Fountas as Rocky, Kaylan Wetzel as Magenta, Catherine Logan as Columbia, George Quinn as Eddie, Paul Goodman as the Narrator, David Wills as Dr. Scott and the Phantoms: Brian Couch, Lauren Rooney, Miriam Pultro and Brian Walsh. Bob Miller, Executive Director and owner of The New Candlelight Theatre will direct this added installment in the 2008 season. Barrymore nominatee Jody Anderson Miller will choreograph. Mr. Miller, no stranger to RHS, played Brad in the 1999 European Tour and has dozens of theatrical credits to his name including Billy Flynn in Chicago, Harold Hill in The Music Man and Sky Masterson in Guys-n-Dolls. This marks Mr. Miller’s directorial debut since obtaining ownership of Candlelight. The New Candlelight Theatre is located in historic Ardentown, DE—five minutes from downtown Wilmington and 30 minutes from Center City, Philadelphia. The current production is Phantom, which runs until October 5th. To purchase tickets, please call The New Candlelight Theatre box office at: 302-475-2313.
