On December 5, 2008 at the bejeweled home of Carol Denker, B. Someday Productions will hold an intimate evening of Cabaret and Theatre as a benefit for its programs. The jazz singer Mary Ellen Desmond and the Musical Theatre professional Victor Rodriguez will woo the audience in the cozy setting of one of Fishtown's nicest row homes. The evening begins at 7:00pm. Catered food and beverages will be served. Mary Ellen Desmond is a jazz singer or note playing at various venues in Philadelphia such as Chris' Jazz House where she is a regular. Victor Rodriguez recently finished a run of the revival of the 1957 Broadway Musical hit, "Jamaica". He is presently completing a demo CD of his world pop fusion band, Mezclado. Scenes from American classics such as "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" will also be performed by some of Philly's favorite actors.

All proceeds from the evening's events go to help fund programs of B. Someday's such as the Family Theatre Series and Fun with Acting classes offered to young people in the Fishtown/Kensington area. "The community is really growing," says Stan Heleva, B. Someday's Artistic Director, "but there are no arts offered in schools around here. And now, especially with the city's budget cuts, our programs have even more relevance."

Tickets for the December 5th Benefit Salon are $40 with a limited edition print (available on the website: www.walkingfishtheatre.com "Ticket" button) and $25 for only admission. Food is donated by local restaurants including Memphis Taproom. Beer donated by Philadelphia Brewing Company (a community partner of Walking Fish Theatre). Raffle prizes will also be available.
