Reckless opening at Action Arts Theater Company For Immediate Release: November 25, 2008
Action Arts Theater Company, resident at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts, presents the Craig Lucas Christmas comedy Reckless, a surreal comedic romp through a world of jingle bells, contract killers, game shows, champagne, deaf/mute paraplegics, and, of course, therapy. Action Arts Theater Company will celebrate opening night of Reckless with a complimentary gourmet reception. After the opening night performance, on December 5, theatergoers are invited to enjoy a tantalizing array of hors d'oeuvres, drinks and desserts. The audience can share thoughts, questions, and reactions with the cast, crew, and director. Who: Action Arts Theater Company What: Reckless When: December 5-6, 12-13 at 8:00 p.m. Where: Cheltenham Center for the Arts, Bernard H. Berger Theater, 439 Ashbourne Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012 The Story: Rachel Fitzsimmons loves Christmas. She loves Bing Crosby and presents and that when you look at a glass of champagne upside down it looks like it's snowing. She loves that the TV networks store up all the happy news for Christmas Eve. But this year Rachel is in for a little Christmas surprise. When you snuggle up by the fire to hang your stockings with care, and find out that your beloved husband has taken out a contract on your life, you have to know that your holiday season is going to be a little odd this year. Rachel finds herself on the run and is buffeted by the strange events and even stranger characters she meets on her loony adventure. Reckless works on many levels. On the surface it is an appealing, bright, comical journey. Underneath, you find many cleverly crafted moments and interesting observations about time, identity, change, and the marvelously ordered randomness of things. You'll laugh so hard, you'll forget you're thinking. For information call 888-715-5589 or visit our web site at www.actionarts.net for tickets, info and directions.
