"A little bit of heaven, a hell of a lot of laughs"

The Pazinski Family has a lot of emotion brewing in their cramped apartment above Chet's Bar & Grill. It's the Eisenhower years when everything is quiet and orderly. Enter Rudy, a smart, wise-cracking 12 year old, starting to question family values and the Catholic Catechism. Inevitably, Rudy must match wits with Sister Clarissa's wooden ruler. When Rudy announces that he'd rather shop around for a more fun religion, all hell breaks loose. A humorous and poignant look at family dysfunction, growing up and struggling to get along.

Starring Dane McMichael as Rudy and Cynthia Raff as Sister Clarissa with Rachel Diamond, Stephen Kent, Leigh Murray, Owen Pelesh and Tom Tansey. Tom Quinn, artistic director of Montgomery Theater, directs.

Our 2009 season is sponsored by Univest Corporation and Harleysville National Bank. The 2009 season co-sponsors are Moyer Indoor Outdoor, Portable Communications and Allebach Communications.

"Over the Tavern, with a heart as big as its belly laughs, is the Catholic equivalent to Neil Simon's tenderly Jewish-American Lost in Yonkers and his Brighton Beach trilogy. Dudzick's is a voice that tells us who we were, which is, after all, the first measure of who we have become." - Pittsburgh Tribune Review

"A hilarious and touching depiction of 1959 Americana. Absolutely enchanting . . . a little bit of heaven!" - Chicago Tribune
