Azuka Theatre presents Azuka Lounge: I Love You/I Hate You, a dramatic reading For Immediate Release: January 28, 2009
Azuka Theatre's on-going Azuka Lounge returns with a brand new edition of last year's riotous hit I Love You/I Hate You, (melo)dramatic readings from The City Paper's perversely beloved column, on Tuesday, February 10th at 5:00 at Woody's Bar, 202 South 13th Street, Philadelphia, PA. Admission is $10 with a cash bar available. Readers will feature a host of Philly favorites including Mike Dees, Janice Rowland, Amanda Schoonover, Steven Wright, Karen DiLossi, Jessica Dal Canton, Brian Cowden and MORE! "There's a dramatic nature to the I Love You/I Hate You column," says Azuka Theatre's Literary Manager Allison Heishman. "It's like a ranting, comedic dialogue with the city of Philadelphia. When we started doing the Lounges this felt like the perfect fit for Valentine's Day. Last year's event was so painfully funny that we knew we had to bring it back for more -- we've added posts from the best of this year's column. It's Azuka Theatre's Anti-Valentine's Day Valentine to the city!" Azuka Lounge: A Happy Hour Event is presented as a social fundraiser to support future Azuka productions. This event is held in support of our upcoming production of Whisky Neat, opening April 2nd at The Latvian Society, 7th and Spring Garden Streets. All Azuka Lounge events have a $10.00 cover and take place from 5:00pm - 8:00pm in Woody's Bar Dance Floor, 202 S. 13th Street.
