Bus Stop at The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater

For Immediate Release: February 12, 2009
Media Contact: Kristy Chen, The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater, 610.328.4271

The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater continues its "Oh, the places we'll go..." season with a visit to a long night in a simpler time, with Bus Stop. It's William Inge's classic romantic comedy about an unlikely group of characters thrown together in Grace's small-town diner during a howling snowstorm.

The bus driver wants to know the owner better, the cowboy is mad about the small-town chanteuse, the professor gone to seed has his eye on the sweet young thing and the sheriff just stepped out. It's the kind of situation where anything can happen, and surprising things do.

Director Brian Boland of Wallingford has put together a great cast to present this old-school gem: Natalie Nunez of Havertown, Miriam Barnett of Wallingford, Robert Toczek, Amanda Williamson and Rich Deaver of Philadelphia; Ed Gretz of Lansdowne, James Reese of Phoenixville and Jonathon Reardon of Jeffersonville.

On Friday, March 13th, Qdoba Mexican Grill is teaming up with The Players Club of Swarthmore to provide a free pre-show meal for audience members. Starting at 6:30pm, the theater is inviting patrons to bring their own favorite beverage and gather on Second Stage for a fun Tex-Mex spread. It's a good chance to chat with fellow theater-lovers and enjoy Qdoba's fresh Mexican fare.

Bus Stop runs March 12-15, 19-22 and 26-28. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 8pm and Sunday matinées are at 2pm. The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater is located just minutes from the Blue Route and I-95 at 614 Fairview Avenue in Swarthmore. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students (18 and under or college students with ID). All tickets and ticket packages are available at the box office, or may be purchased in advance by visiting www.pcstheater.org or calling 1-866-811-4111 (ticket sales through TheaterMania). For Info or Group Sales: 610-328-4271.
