DISNEY'S 'CINDERELLA' AT MEDIA THEATRE HAS CAST OF STUDENTS

For Immediate Release: March 24, 2009
Media Contact: Roger Ricker, Media Theatre, 610.891.0100

The Media Theatre continues its children's series with Disney's "Cinderella Kids" Saturday mornings in April at 11am. The show features 30 members of The Media Theatre Youth Ensemble who study acting at Delaware County's only professional music theatre.

Greta Bradbury portrays Cinderella in The Media Theatre production. Greta has studied acting with The Media Theatre Artistic Director Jesse Cline, and musical theatre at the Walnut Street Theatre. This is her first show at The Media Theatre. Previous roles include Molly in "Annie", Rizzo in "Grease", Rose Alvarez in "Bye Bye Birdie", and Oliver in "Oliver!" Most recently she played Walt Whitman's niece at The Walnut Street Theatre in "O Captain, My Captain". The thirteen year old sang at the Catholic Hall of Fame dinner last year.

Two Media Theatre instructors will also appear in the production. Therese Walden, who teaches the popular voice classes, portrays the Fairy Godmother. Roger Ricker will return to The Media Theatre stage after a year's absence as The Wicked Stepmother.

"The Saturday morning Children's Series is a part of our educational experience for the young actors involved here," explained Jesse Cline. "The youth ensemble enjoys the rehearsal process and gets to perform for general audiences while they hone their craft. It's a good experience to have their educators join them on occasion."

The Media Theatre Spring School session begins the weekend of April 4 for all ages. Students from the School will have the opportunity to appear in the next children's series production.
