Montgomery Theater's Young Actors Company Acting and Apprentice Program For Immediate Release: March 26, 2009
Young Actors Company - Auditions for 2009-10 Thursdays, 4/9 & 4/23/09 - 3:30-5:30pm - by appointment only For students currently in grades 8 - 11 Call Megan Hoffman, Director of Education - 215-939-0391 Montgomery Theater's Young Actors Company will be holding auditions for their 2009-2010 Acting and Apprentice Program on April 9th and 23rd from 3:30 to 5:30 at Montgomery Theater. Auditions are open to all students currently in grades 8 - 11 who are seriously interested in increasing their knowledge about all aspects of the theater. Those who would like to audition are asked to prepare a one minute monologue, write a short essay explaining why they would like to participate in the Young Actors Company Apprentice Program and provide one reference letter from a teacher or coach (no relations please). This program meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30PM to 5:30PM from September through May, and will include acting classes and a hands-on apprenticeship component. Participants will be involved in all areas of theater production: acting, administration, education, design and technical theater. Over the course of the year, the YAC will produce three plays and participate in local theater competitions. Students will also have the opportunity to meet and learn from theater professionals with wide-ranging expertise while honing their skills both onstage and behind the scenes. The cost for the 28 week program is $750.00.
