Footloose will open at The New Candlelight Theatre on March 21st and will run until May 30th. In 1984, the movie Footloose starring Kevin Beacon, captured the heart of America. With its youthful spirit, dazzling dances and electrifying music, Footloose launched a dance craze that spread across the nation. The show tells the story of Ren, a big city kid who moves to a small town and shakes up the status quo, particularly in his confrontations with Rev. Shaw Moore, the town's spiritual leader. The show is set to the rockin' rhythms of the movie's Oscar-nominated score to which new dynamic shows have been added. The show's classic 80's hits include "Holding Out for a Hero," "Almost Paradise," "Let's Hear it for the Boy" and of course the ever popular "Footloose!" Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

The Cast
Leading the cast of Footloose is Mr. Bobby Gouse as Ren McCormack. Mr. Gouse is a recent graduate of Cumberland County College with an Associates in Theatre. While attending college he not only performed in their shows but also on occasion acted at choreographer and assistant director. Other past performances have included regional work in Conneticut at the Seven Angels Theatre and the Tri Arts Theatre. Playing the role of Rev. Shaw Moore is Mr. Peyton Dixon. No stranger to the local tri-state area, Mr. Dixon has performed at numerous venues including Three Little Bakers in Delaware and Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in Pennsylvania. In the beginning of March, Mr. Dixon will be performing a one man rendition of Man of La Mancha. The supporting cast for Footloose features the talents of familiar as well as newcomers to the Candlelight stage including: Erica Scanlon Harr as Ethel McCormack, Kaylan Wetzel as Ariel Moore, Gerri Weagraff as Vi Moore, Alisa Stamps as Lulu Warnicker, David McConney as Wes Warnicker, Maureen T. Cotellese as Coach Dunbar, Joseph Kinsolving as Principal Clark, Bob Lewandowski as Chuck, Brian Peeke as Willard, Candice Brechbiel as Rusty, Jamie Soltis as Urleen, Adrienne Bergeron as Wendy Jo and the ensemble members: Dann Dunn, Stephen Wovna, Alexander Kacala, Kevin Hurley, Colleen Kreisel, Jessica O'Brien, Lindsay Mauck, Kristina Biddle, Daisy Zimmerman and Jordan O'Brien.

The Production Team
The production team is lead by director, set and lighting designer Chris Alberts along with choreographer Angela Bates. Musical direction is by Steve Weatherman, costume design by Timothy Lammont Cannon and production stage management by Jackie Goldwurm.
