Meet Mitchell — a rising Hollywood star. If his agent Diane has anything to do with it, his face will be on every poster, his movies in every multiplex, and his future nothing but bright. All she has to do is keep him in the closet. But when Mitchell meets Alex, Diane's job becomes infinitely harder. Add to the mix Alex's fun-loving girlfriend and one persnickety playwright, and you'll find that Hollywood endings are not always what they seem. This "devastating and satirical comedy" (Talkinbroadway.com) was nominated for two 2007 Tony Awards, including Best Play. NOTE: This production contains full nudity and adult sexual situations.

Award winner Douglas Carter Beane writes for both stage and screen. Screenplays include To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar and Advice From A Caterpillar, which won Best Film, Aspen Comedy Festival and Best Feature, Toyota Comedy Festival. His plays and musicals include As Bees In Honey Drown (Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Playwriting Award, Drama Desk Best Play Nomination); The Country Club (LA Times Critics' Choice & Dramalogue Awards); and Xanadu! (Tony nomination).

The cast, all making their Flashpoint debut, features Karen Getz, a two time Barrymore Award winner for her work with 1812 Productions and The Prince Music Theatre. Getz has also worked with Theatre Exile, ComedySportz and Lunchlady Doris, and is playing the role that won Julie White a Tony Award for Best Actress. Aime Kelly, a senior at the University of the Arts, was seen in Q for last summer’s Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival and has also worked with Philadelphia Theatre Workshop. Matt Lorenz was last seen in Mauckingbird Theatre Company’s Hedda Gabler and most recently designed sound for the Walnut Theatre’s production of Criminal Hearts. Sean Thompson has worked with the Arden Theatre Company, the Prince Music Theatre in Jamaica, and Media Theatre in Oliver!, among others.

Barrymore award winner Chris Colucci is designing sound and original music and is joined by Natalia de la Torre designing costumes, scenic designer W.D. Forte, lighting designer Dominic Chacon, Avista Custom Theatricals designing props, Gigi Naglak as dramaturg and stage manager Catherine Pidgeon.

Director and founder Meghann Williams has previously directed The Faculty Room, The House of Yes, The Santaland Diaries and Season’s Greetings to Our Friends and Family as well as a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues for Flashpoint. Meghann has also worked with several other companies around Philadelphia including Brat Productions, Philadelphia Theatre Workshop, and most recently served as Assistant Director on Theatre Exile’s production of Blackbird.

Flashpoint Theatre Company is dedicated to promoting cultural arts awareness in the Greater Philadelphia area through the production of socially provocative and emotionally resonant works of theatre, through the development of educational programming within the community, and through collaboration with new and emerging artists from all artistic disciplines.
