Celebrate a return of chivalry to Philadelphia as Plays & Players promotes its upcoming performance of Camelot with special events! For Immediate Release: April 30, 2009
Plays & Players, Center City Philadelphia's longest continually operated theater at 1714 Delancey Place, will launch a series of promotional events in May to promote its upcoming performance of the classic musical Camelot, running May 20 - June 6 on its Mainstage. More information be found at www.playsandplayers.org.camelot.php. April 24 - May 15 - Pocket Kings Camelot Poker Fundraisers. Friday nights from 10pm-2am at Plays & Players Third Floor Quig's Pub. $10 to enter, $5 re-buy. First drink free and drink specials all night. Camelot themed prizes including tickets to see Camelot, Monty Python and the Holy Grail DVD, and year long membership to Quig's Pub. Simply ring the bell at the door to the left of the main entrance to enter and walk up to the third floor. No reservation necessary. Quig's is cash only. April 28 - May 2 (*Family Friendly) - Camelot at Philadelphia International Children's Festival. Camelot themed arts & crafts throughout the week and discount coupons to see opening weekend performances. Live sneak peek performance from Outdoor Stage - May 2 at 3:30pm. Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, 3680 Walnut Street. May 9 (*Family Friendly) - Camelot at Rittenhouse Row Festival. Win free tickets to Camelot at the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia booth in Rittenhouse Square, and see sneak peek performance from the Children's Stage. May 16 - Monty Python Madness. 10pm-2am at Plays & Players Third Floor Quig's Pub. $5 cover or $15 includes ticket to see Camelot on May 20, 21, or 22. Dress in Holy Grail Themed Costume and get free drink. Drink specials all night. Watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail, play chess themed drinking games, and more. May 17 (*Family Friendly) - Songs from the American Musical Family Brunch. 12pm-3pm at Plays & Players Third Floor Skinner Studio. Homemade food served in a family friendly environment with Plays & Players singers performing classic and contemporary numbers from American Musicals. $20 for all ($15 for members), or $30 per person includes ticket to see Camelot on May 20, 21, or 22. Performances of Camelot are slated for May 20 - June 6, Thursdays-Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. No performance will be held on May 23 or 24 for Memorial Day Weekend. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door for adults, $20 in advance or $25 at the door for seniors, and $15 in advance or $20 at the door for students. March 20 is a special preview performance, and all tickets will be $5 off. All performances will be given in Plays & Players Mainstage on the first floor at 1714 Delancey Place (between Spruce & Pine Streets).
