There was Heidi....The Heidi Chronicles...

The Ritz Theatre Company presents limited engagement performances of Wendy Wasserstein's "The Heidi Chronicles" June 11 through 21, 2009 at the historic Ritz Theatre, 915 White Horse Pike, Arts District, Haddon Township, NJ.

"The Ritz debuts it's new black box space that offers reserved seating for fifty, where patrons can enjoy an up close performance. By creating this new space within our walls, we are able to present pieces of great theater in an intimate surrounding" says Producing Artistic Director, Bruce A. Curless.

Witty, insightful and often poignant, "The Heidi Chronicles" follows Heidi Holland from high school in the 1960s to her career as a successful art historian more than twenty years later. The play's main themes deal with the changing role of women during this time period, describing both Heidi's ardent feminism during the 1970s and her eventual sense of betrayal during the 1980s.

Past productions starred Joan Allen as Heidi. Sarah Jessica Parker was featured in three small roles before being replaced by Cynthia Nixon.

Kimberly Curless of Haddon Heights stars as Heidi. Ms. Curless was last seen as Titania in "A Midsummer Night's Musical". The production is being directed by Al Fuchs who recently directed the Ritz's "Thoroughly Modern Millie."
