Act II Playhouse Announces 2009-10 Season Four-Play Season Plus 2 Special Event Shows For Immediate Release: June 1, 2009
Act II Playhouse is proud to announce its 2009-10 season. The four-show lineup kicks off with the laugh-out-loud 2008 Tony winner for Best Revival, Boeing-Boeing by Marc Camoletti, followed by Ernest Thompson’s beloved classic, On Golden Pond. Act II is also proud to present the world premiere of Philadelphia playwright Bruce Graham’s newest play, Any Given Monday, a co-production with Theatre Exile; followed by Neil Bartram and Brian Hill’s new musical about friendship, The Story of My Life. In addition, Act II’s 11th season includes two special event shows, including the world premiere of Tony Braithwaite’s newest solo comedy, First Impressions, followed by The Philly Fan, returning by popular demand and starring the inimitable Tom McCarthy. Tom McCarthy’s journey through Philadelphia’s sports history is an in-your-face, tell-it-like-it-is romp through the eyes of a hard-core sports fan—a hilarious (and sometimes moving) celebration of Philadelphians and their teams across the decades.
